Jerky

Whenever I’ve used liquid smoke in the past it has always been overwhelming. I found a recipe from a liquid smoke manufacturer that called for * 2 Tbsp of salt * 2 tsp of liquid smoke * 1 tsp of garlic powder * 1 tsp of onion powder * 1 tsp of pepper * 1 cup of water I made some and it had a very strong smell. I ended up cutting the onion and garlic powders to 1/4 t each. I also halved the ( to 1T) salt and ( to 1t )liquid smoke. I liked the result. I think I could actually put in more salt and the second teaspoon of liquid smoke. It won’t have too long of a shelf life, but it only lasts a couple of days in the fridge anyway. I liked this recipe because most recipes call for sugar and Worcestershire Sauce. I don’t like a sweet jerky and I don’t like Worcestershire Sauce.
